VWC Hearing Locations & Directions

Hearings are conducted at the Commission's central office (1000 DMV Drive, Richmond, VA 23220) as well as its regional offices. There are additional hearing sites located throughout the state. The locations and directions to these additional hearing sites are as follows:


Berryville (Clarke County General District Court, 104 N. Church Street, Berryville, VA 22611):
From I-81 North towards Winchester: Take VA-7 E at Exit 315 toward Berryville. Turn left onto VA-7 E / Berryville Pike. Turn right onto VA-7 BR / West Main street. Turn left onto North Church Street.
From Fairfax: I-495 N / Capital Beltway. Merge onto VA-267 W at Exit 45 on the left toward Dulles Airport. Merge onto VA-7 W at Exit 1A on the left toward Leesburg / Warrenton. Turn left onto VA-7 BR / East Main Street. Turn right onto North Church Street.

Big Stone Gap (United States Federal Courthouse, Third Floor Law Library, 322 East Wood Avenue, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219):
From Tri Cities Airport: Take Interstate 81 to 181/23. Follow 23 North approximately 45 minutes. Take the first Big Stone Gap exit (McDonald's exit). Turn left off the exit ramp. At the third light, turn right. Turn left at Clinton Avenue (fourth light). This will take you to the parking lot behind the Federal Courthouse. The hearings are held in the law library on the third floor.
From Abingdon: Take Route 19 approximately 17 miles and turn left on Alt 58. Follow Alt 58 to Norton and turn right onto Route 23. Take the first Big Stone Gap exit (McDonald's exit). Turn left off the exit ramp. At the third light, turn right. Turn left at Clinton Avenue (fourth light). This will take you to the parking lot behind the Federal Courthouse. Big Stone Gap (Mountain Empire Community College, 3441 Mountain Empire Road, Phillips-Taylor Hall, 2nd Floor, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219):
From Abingdon: Take Route 19 approximately 17 miles and turn left on Alt 58. Follow Alt 58 to Norton and turn right onto Route 23 South toward Big Stone Gap. Go past the second Big Stone Gap exit and you will see the Mountain Empire Community College on the right. Turn right and go to the top of the hill to Phillips Taylor Hall where the hearings are held.

Bristol (Bristol Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, 497 Cumberland Street, Suite 107, Bristol, VA 24201):
From I-81, take exit 3 onto I-381 toward Bristol. Continue for 3 miles. Turn left onto State Street for .4 miles. Turn left onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard for .1 mile. Turn left onto Cumberland Street and the courthouse is immediately on the right.

Bristol (Bristol Public Library, 701 Goode Street - Conference Rm 2nd Floor, Bristol, VA 24201):
From I-81, take Exit 3, which becomes Commonwealth Boulevard. Turn left onto State Street and then left onto Piedmont Street. The library is one block to the left, at the corner of Goode and Piedmont. Public parking is available next to the main entrance and also behind the library.

Charlottesville (Second Floor Council Chamber, 610 East Market Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902):
Take I-64 West to exit 121 (U.S. Route 20 - Monticello Avenue). Follow this route to and turn right onto Avon Street. Continue to Market Street. Turn left at Market Street, and continue for one block to the city hall.

Covington (Alleghany County Circuit Court, Courtroom - Second Floor, 266 W Main Street, Covington, VA 24426):
Eastbound: Take I-64 to the Callaghan Exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto Route 60 and follow Route 60 into town. You will pass Westvaco on the left. Go across the Rosedale Bridge. At the second light, take a right onto Main Street. The courthouse is in the middle of the block on the right, beside the First Union Bank. The hearing site is in the Circuit Court of Alleghany County.
Westbound: Take I-64 West to the first Covington Exit. At the stop light on the exit ramp, turn left onto Madison Street. Go straight up the hill. You will pass Moore's Building Supplies on your right. At the third stop light, take a left onto Monroe Street (Route 60). Proceed to the third stop light and take a left onto Main Street. The courthouse is in the middle of the block on the right, beside the First Union Bank.

Danville (Danville Regional Airport, 424 Airport Drive, Danville, VA 24540):
Take Route 360 West to Route 58 at South Boston. Follow Route 58 to Danville Regional Airport. Turn left on Airport Drive.

Eastville (Northampton County Circuit Court, 5229 The Hornes, Easvtville, VA 23347):
Take I-64 East to Exit 282 (U.S. Route 13). Follow signs to Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, and continue on Route 13 North to U.S. Route 13 Business to Eastville and to Courthouse Road.

Franklin (Paul D. Camp CC, Reg. Workforce Dev. Ctr., 100 N College Drive, Franklin, Va 23851):
From the East (Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth, etc): Follow 58 West Bypass through Suffolk to Franklin. In Holland, the road will split again. Stay in the left lane (Rt.58) rather than taking the exit labeled Franklin. Do not turn onto Kenyon Road in Suffolk - that is the Hobbs Suffolk Campus. Continue to the Franklin Campus - 20 minutes away. From Suffolk, take the third Franklin exit, Armory Drive (Rt 671), and turn right. From Courtland / Richmond, exit onto Armory Drive (Rt 671) and turn left. Proceed to the fourth stop light and turn left onto College Drive. The college is on the right. Turn into the second driveway on College Drive for the Regional Workforce Development Center. Parking is on the immediate left.
From the West (Richmond): Take I-95 South to Hwy. 35 - Exit 41 to Courtland. Bear right onto Hwy 35 (South). If you need gas, etc. stop at the station just after you get on Hwy. 35. Follow Hwy. 35 into Courtland (approx. 30 miles). Continue straight through “downtown” Courtland on Hwy 58 Business. (In Courtland, Hwy. 58 Bus. and Hwy. 35 intersect). Just after the “downtown area” and past the 7-11, Hwy 58 Business becomes a 4-laned highway. Get into left lane. At the stop sign, turn left onto Hwy 58 Bypass. Follow Hwy. 58 Bypass to Franklin - approximately 5 miles. (There are signs for PDCCC).

From I-77 Take exit 14 onto Route 221 South/58 West to Galax. In Galax, turn left onto North Main Street.

Grundy (Buchanan County Public Library, 1185 Poe Town Road, Grundy, VA 24614):
From Lebanon: Take Route 19 North to Claypool Hill. Turn left onto Route 460 and proceed 34 miles. At the intersection in Grundy, turn left onto 460 West and proceed approximately 1/4 mile. Turn right onto Poe Town Road.
From Bluefield: Take Route 19 to Claypool Hill. Turn right onto Route 460 and proceed approximately 34 miles. At the intersection in Grundy, turn left onto 460 West and proceed approximately 1/4 mile. Turn right onto Poe Town Road.

From Lebanon: Take Route 19 North to Claypool Hill. Turn left onto Route 460 and proceed 34 miles. In Grundy (across from Walmart), turn right onto Route 83, Edgewater Drive. Turn right onto the second road, Main Street. The courthouse is on the left at the corner of Main Street and Walnut Street. Parking is located on Main Street and also past the courthouse on Walnut Street.
From Bluefield: Take Route 19 to Claypool Hill. Turn right onto Route 460 and proceed approximately 34 miles. In Grundy (across from Walmart), turn right onto Route 83, Edgewater Drive. Turn right onto the second road, Main Street. The courthouse is on the left at the corner of Main Street and Walnut Street. Parking is located on Main Street and also past the courthouse on Walnut Street.

Hampton (Hampton City Council Chambers, 22 Lincoln Street, Hampton, VA 23669):
Take I-64 East to exit 267 (Hampton University). Take a sharp right turn at the end of the exit ramp onto Settlers Landing Road. Turn right after crossing the river bridge, onto Eaton Street. Continue several blocks to and turn left onto Lincoln Street. The Hampton City Hall is on the right corner after completing the turn (22 Lincoln Street).

Lawrenceville (Brunswick Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Albertis S. Harrison, Jr. Courthouse, 202 North Main Street, Lower Level, Lawrenceville, VA 23868)
Take I-95 South to I-85 South to Lawrenceville, exit #28. Take a left onto U.S. Route 1. Take a left onto VA-46. Take a right onto Main Street.

Lexington (25th Judicial Circuit, Rockbridge County Circuit Court, 20 S. Randolph Street, Suite 101, Lexington, VA 24450):
From I-81 North and South: Take Exit 188A (from north) or 188B (from south) and turn right onto Route 60 West. Stay on Rt. 60 (Nelson Street) into Lexington until it intersects with Randolph Street at the end of the Nelson Street Bridge (5th traffic light). The courthouse is at the corner of Nelson and Randolph Streets.
From I-64 West: Take Exit 55 and turn right onto Rt. 11 South. Proceed 2 miles, merging left onto the Rt. 11 Bypass at the south end of the Maury River Bridge. Continue 2 miles and take the first exit onto Rt. 60 West (Nelson Street). Continue west on Nelson Street until it intersects with Randolph Street at the end of the Nelson Street Bridge (4th traffic light). The courthouse is at the corner of Nelson and Randolph Streets.
Parking: Parking on all downtown streets is free and limited to 2 hours. Courthouse parking is available in the parking deck behind the courthouse. Parking in the parking deck is free and there is no time limit. Turn right on Randolph Street and turn right onto the parking deck at the north end of the courthouse. The public entrance to the courthouse is at the corner of Nelson and Randolph Streets. Stairway and elevator access to the courthouse entrance is available from all levels of the parking deck.

Madison (War Memorial Building, 2 Main Street - Courtroom, Main Street & Church St, Madison, VA 22727):
From the South: Take I-64 to Charlottesville. Exit at U.S. Route 29 North to Route 29 Business, and then back to Route 29 North. Follow to Madison County. After you pass Madison County High School, merge into the left lane to turn left onto Route 29 Business/Va. Route 231. This route becomes Main Street. The courthouse is in the War Memorial Building at Main and Church Streets.
From the North: Take Route 29 South past Culpeper to Madison County. Take Route 29 Business into Town. This is Main Street. The courthouse is in the War Memorial Building at Main and Church Street.

Martinsville (Henry County Courthouse, 3160 Kings Mountain Rd, 3rd Floor, Courtroom B, Martinsville, VA 24112):
From Richmond: Take U.S. 360 West to U.S. 58 West. Continue on Route 58 to 220 Bypass. Take the Collinsville exit to the first traffic signal. Turn left onto Kings Mountain Road. Proceed approximately 1 1/2 miles. The building is on the left.
From Roanoke: Take U.S. 220 South to Collinsville exit. Proceed to the first traffic signal. Make a left onto Kings Mountain Road. Proceed approximately 1 and half miles. The building is on the left.

From Interstate I-81: Exit 118-C (Christiansburg); go 2 miles south on Route 11. The Government Center is on the left.

Rustburg (Campbell County General District Court, 732 Village Highway, Rustburg, VA 24588):
From Richmond: Take U.S. Route 360 West from Richmond. About 10 miles past Amelia, turn right onto U.S. Route 307. Continue to U.S. Route 460 West, through Appomattox, to Va. Route 24 West [near Concord]. Follow this to Rustburg. Go through the first and second traffic lights in Rustburg, and go approximately ¼ mile to the new courthouse on the right.
From Charlottesville: Take U.S. Route 29 South from Charlottesville through Lynchburg. Take U.S. Route 501 South to Rustburg. Turn right at the traffic light in Rustburg, and go approximately ¼ miles to the new courthouse on the right.

Spotsylvania (Spotsylvania County Auxiliary District Court Building - 2nd Floor, 9115 Courthouse Road, Corner of Courthouse Road and Dean Ridings Lane, Spotsylvania VA 22553):
Northbound: Take I-95 to Exit 126A. Proceed on Route 1 North to the third traffic light. Take a left onto Courthouse Road (Route 208). Proceed approximately approximately 6.5 miles. Turn left at the light onto business route 208 and proceed 1/2 mile. The building is red brick and is located on the right just before the "T" intersection.
Southbound: Take I-95 to Exit 126. Turn left onto Route 1 North. Proceed to the fourth traffic light. Take a left onto Courthouse Road (Route 208). Proceed approximately approximately 6.5 miles. Turn left at the light onto business route 208 and proceed 1/2 mile. The building is red brick and is located on the right just before the "T" intersection.

Staunton (Staunton Circuit Court Building, Second Floor, 113 East Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401):
Take I-64 West to I-81 North. Take exit 222 onto U.S. Route 250 West to Greenville Avenue. Turn right onto Greenville and pass under a railroad trestle. Continue straight through the traffic light on Greenville, which will soon become Coalter Street. Go up the hill, through one traffic light, and continue on for one block. Turn left onto Frederick Street. Go one block, and turn left onto Market Street. [Mary Baldwin College will be on your right.] Proceed one block further to Beverley Street. Because Beverley Street is one-way with travel to the left, and the Circuit Court building is one block right, you should consider parking in the metered lot on Market near Beverley Street and walking to the hearing room.

Tappahannock (Town Council Chambers, Tappahannock Municipal Building, 915 Church Lane, Tappahannock, Virginia 22560):
Take U.S. Route 360 East towards Tappahannock. Turn left at intersection of Route 360 and U.S. Route 17 North. Routes 360 and 17 merge and become Church Lane. The Tappahannock Municipal Building is on the left. As you enter the building, the Town Council Chambers are on your immediate left.

Coming from the west, take I-64 E to Exit 234 (Lightfoot), bear to R on Rt. 199 E, then take Exit 321 E (Monticello Ave.). Take left at light on Monticello and Courthouse is about a mile down on the right. Coming from the east, Take I-64 W to Exit 242 A (toward Williamsburg/James City County). Then take Exit 321 E (Monticello Ave.). Courthouse will be on right side.
