WHAT IS EDI?

EDI is a technology that permits the direct computer-to-computer exchange of data in a standard format, specifically EDI refers to the electronic transmission of claims information from Claims Administrators (insurers, self-administered self-insured employers, and third party administrators)  to a State Workers’ Compensation Agency.  Data are transmitted in a format standardized by the IAIABC.
